From 1994 to 2008, served as a Managing Director of Shamrock Capital Advisors, a private investment company managing private equity/hedge funds for the Roy E. Disney family and institutional investors. Founded and led a $1.5bn hedge fund, was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and participated in 34 transactions totaling over $2.7bn in both public and private companies.
Over the past 26 years, has served as a non-executive director at 16 public and 8 private companies in the US, Israel, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, has served as CEO of Collectors Universe and interim CEO/Executive Chairman at Spark Networks, Redflex Limited and Adacel Technologies.
Mr. McConnell received his B.A. in economics from Harvard University in 1988 and his M.B.A degree (Shermet Scholar) from the Darden School of the University of Virginia in 1994.
